Virtual Tour of the Galena King Mine
Originally shot over several trips to the mine in 2017 using a drone and GoPro cameras, this six minute video will take you onto the hillside and you can explore the mine along with several of our volunteers. This video was first premiered in 2019 and it wasn’t posted to YouTube until June 2024. The updated version linked here was posted in January 2025 and it includes captions to help narrate your trip around the mine.

2023 Lidar Animation of the Galena King Mine
Captured over two days in August 2023, an amazing geologist from Southwest Geophysical Consulting LLC was able to take a handheld Lidar unit into every corner of the mine. He was assisted by a team of volunteers to help rig and recover ropes and haul gear but ultimately this was one person descending and ascending long sections of rope, climbing into awkward sections and hiking the hillside multiple times to capture the data you see here. This video was posted to the Southwest Geophysical Consulting YouTube page in September 2023 and is a fantastic illustration of the structure of the mine.
